# CHIRP

> CHIRP is a B2C remote home monitoring and automation platform for homeowners, vacation rentals, personally operated properties, individual realtors, and student-rental owners.

CHIRP connects compatible devices from multiple manufacturers through LoRaWAN, MQTT, Zigbee2MQTT, and a cellular/GSM Tracker connector. Users can combine sensor readings, dashboards, alerts, AI-assisted setup, rules, and supported device commands without committing the entire home to one hardware vendor.

## Important product boundaries

- The Free plan includes two devices, one automation, one dashboard, unlimited gateways, push and email notifications, and one day of device logs.
- Device reporting and command support are separate capabilities and depend on the exact model and connector.
- Typical LoRaWAN home-sensor battery expectations are two to five years; longer claims must be tied to a verified named device.
- The cellular/GSM Tracker connector has more than 2,000 preconfigured tracker profiles. LoRaWAN trackers use the LoRaWAN network-server path.
- The unified camera feature is Coming Soon and is designed for RTSP-capable IP cameras; compatibility is not yet a live universal promise.
- CHIRP does not claim verified smart-lock support.
